Ph.d.-forsvar om brugerinddragelse mellem organisatorisk og arkitektonisk design
"What we talk about when we talk about space: end user participation between processes of organizational and architectural design"
The thesis explores the link between two design processes that have traditionally been considered separate and sequential: the organizational and the architectural design processes. The study is based on the increasing interest in space and architecture as a potential strategic vehicle in contemporary management, an interest that is shared by some scholars within organization studies. However, only few research contributions are based on empirical studies of the processes involved.
Two contemporary building projects have been studied: the Town Hall of Hillerød Municipality and Danish architecture firm, Arkitema’s Copenhagen office domicile. Through the exploration of how organized end user participation was applied as an integrated part of these design processes, the thesis identifies some of the linkages that such activities generate, and discusses the mutual effects they seem to induce.
The study builds on two different theoretical schools: sensemaking in organizations and actor-network theory.
Professor Kristian Kreiner (CBS) og Dr. Martin Kornberger (UTS) er vejledere. Bedømmelsesudvalget består af lektor Kjell Tryggestad (CBS), professor Alfons Van Marrewijk (VU University Amsterdam) og Dr. Jennifer Whyte (University of Reading).
